The Market Impacts of Planning Decisions
with Matthew Boukall from Altus Group
The discussion on changing how the city is planned, built, and developed has been ongoing with new policies being enforced to help guide Calgary to become a more walkable, dense community. These new planning policies will have an impact on the residential market in Calgary, potentially influencing how and where consumers live in our city. This presentation will present some of the market impacts of planning policies on residential and mixed-use development in Calgary. The discussion will focus on the challenges that are being faced by new residential development in both the inner-city and suburbs from a cost and affordability perspective, as well as highlight some of the future impacts that may influence development in the coming years.
