Intensive Introduction to Transit Planning

David Cooper, Calgary Transit Planner, will be presenting an Intensive Introduction to Transit Planning. David is a Registered Professional Planner and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, and has taught on transit planning and transit-oriented development at the University of Calgary.

David will present the role of transit in the community, what makes up a transit system, principles of transit friendly design, and how service is planned (bus and LRT). The presentation will be interactive, and there will be two activities: 1. How to plan a transit route, and 2. The great transit debate: how to provide service to our community stakeholders.

When: Thursday, February 9th, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Where: Environmental Design (Professional Faculties) Building, Room 2165

Lunch will be served at this event. Please RSVP early to secure your space by sending an email with your name, faculty, and any dietary restrictions
