The City Wants Your Opinion on the South Shaganappi Communities Regional Context Study

The City of Calgary is looking for student input and participation in the creation of a South Shaganappi Regional Context Study. A regional context study is designed to fit between the municpal redvelopment plan and an area redevelopment plan. The goal would be to apply the new concepts created in our recently adopted MDP (planit) and apply them to a large area of the city. This particular area is of great importance to university students. If you have any ideas about low cost housing, transportation planning, parks, and really any ideas with the area, the city wants to know!

You can check out the official city page here. Contact info is on that page. Please feel free to send them an email about any thoughts, ideas and concerns you may about the future of this area, they want to hear from you!

The city will also be hosting an information session:

June 16, 2010
5 – 8 p.m.
Olympic Volunteer Centre (Olympic Room)
1833 Crowchild Trail NW (North end of McMahon Stadium)

If you’ve never been to a city meeting, this should be a particularly interesting one.

Hope to see you all there.
