Build Up Brentwood

Re: “Plans for LRT stations divide residents,” Dec. 9.
Brentwood is one of the most under-utilized communities in Calgary. It’s close to downtown, close to the university and has access to numerous commercial venues. The only problem is there are not enough people who get to enjoy it.
The proposed Brentwood development will bring affordable student housing close to the university. It will allow young families an opportunity to live closer to where they work, and most importantly, it will cause property values for the adjacent communities to skyrocket. Most of the people opposing this growth will not be alive by the time it comes to fruition. I believe your reporting should be more reflective of the benefits of the growth, rather than a small NIMBY movement.
